FAŠENK V MARKOVCIH
V kroniki starih bukev cerkve Sv.
FAŠENK IN MARKOVCI
In the chronicle of the old beeches keeping in the church of St. Marko in Markovci Korant caracter was mentioned in writing as early as 1829. The procession of ethnographic characters in Markovci is called »Fašenk«. As the locals like to boast, it is an event where, together with the Korant, other ethnological carnival characters, who originate from this area, appear; these are ploughmen, fairies, »rusa«, bears, chickens and »pokači«, as well as the wedding character spearman, who stand out for its colorfulness and elegance.
ETHNO MUSEUM in the attic of the Municipality building, in addition to the existing collection of ethnological heritage, also presents the Korant carnival character in an interesting interactive way, thus offering tourists an adventure experience even outside the carnival season.
